What you get

We prepare and file Self Assessment returns for people who would rather not do it themselves: self-employed earners, landlords, higher-rate taxpayers with employment income, company directors and anyone HMRC has asked for a return. The work is done by a qualified accountant, reviewed before submission, and filed under our agent authorisation so you never have to fight the HMRC login.

A return is not just a form. Most of the value is in the questions asked before it is filled in — what changed this year, what you paid for out of your own pocket, whether you are on the right code, whether a payment on account can be reduced. That is the difference between a return that is merely submitted and one that is right.

What is included

Full preparation and filing

SA100 and every supplementary page that applies to you, filed electronically.

A proper review

A second qualified pair of eyes on every return before it goes anywhere near HMRC.

Expenses and reliefs

Claimed properly, including the ones people miss — pension relief, professional fees, working from home, charitable gifts.

Payments on account

Checked and reduced where the law allows, so you are not lending HMRC money for a year.

HMRC handled

We are your agent on the record: queries, letters and corrections come to us.

A fixed fee

Agreed before the work starts, in writing.

Who it is for

Anyone with a Self Assessment obligation who wants it done properly and quickly: sole traders, subcontractors, landlords, people with dividend or savings income above the allowances, higher earners with a tax code that has gone wrong, and people who have received a letter from HMRC and are not sure what it means.

It is also for people who filed their own return, realised something was missed, and want it amended. There is a window in which that can be done cleanly, and using it is nearly always cheaper than waiting for HMRC to notice.

How it works

You send what you have — payslips, invoices, bank statements, CIS statements, rental figures, dividend vouchers. If something is missing we tell you exactly what to look for rather than sending you a generic checklist.

We prepare the return, show you the computation with the tax due and the deadlines to pay, and answer whatever you want to ask about it. When you are happy, we file. You get the filed copy and the reference, and we tell you what to put aside for the next payment date.

What clients say

Over fourteen years the firm has collected more than 1,300 published reviews across Google and Trustpilot, and both profiles are open for anyone to read before they pick up the phone.

What it costs

A standard return is a fixed fee, agreed in writing before the work begins. More complicated affairs — property portfolios, foreign income, share schemes, crypto across several platforms — are quoted after we have seen what is involved, because quoting them blind would be guessing.

Questions people ask before they call

How quickly can it be filed?

Where the records are complete, days rather than weeks. The bottleneck is almost never us — it is waiting for a missing statement, which is why the first thing we do is tell you precisely what is missing.

I have left it until January. Is that a problem?

It is busier, and it is still doable. The deadline for an online return is 31 January and we file a great many in the fortnight before it. The part that cannot be rushed is finding documents, so the sooner you start the calmer it is.

What happens if I miss the deadline?

HMRC charges £100 straight away, then daily penalties after three months, then further penalties at six and twelve. Interest runs on the tax separately. Where there is a reasonable excuse a penalty can be appealed, and we do that regularly — it works more often than people expect.

Do you deal with HMRC for me?

Yes. Once you authorise us as your agent, HMRC correspondence about your return comes to us and we answer it. You are told what happened; you do not have to sit in the queue.

Can you amend a return I filed myself?

Usually yes. A return can normally be amended within twelve months of the filing deadline, and beyond that there are other routes. Send us what you filed and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth correcting.
